Since 1985, Mr. Blockwick has concentrated on construction, real estate
and land development matters at a sophisticated level.
Construction related work has included: lead attorney responsibility
for complex construction and mechanics lien arbitration and litigation;
special counsel to various public entities for construction claims and
contracting issues, including the City of Fort Collins, the Town of
Breckenridge, the Lake City School District, and the Aspen School
District; contractual drafting, general consultation, claims evaluation
and general business services for a number of substantial general
contractors throughout the state, each of which performs in excess of
$50-100 million in annual work; and representation of a wide variety of
owners, contractors, architects, and public entities regarding
construction related matters. General real estate work includes:
full service representation of a substantial front range real estate
company developing hundreds of dwelling units per year, including all
aspects of real estate acquisition, sales, land use, construction,
subdivision, condominiumization, and claims; representation of a
variety of development and business entities; common interest community
formation and representation; and general real estate litigation. Mr.
Blockwick has regularly lectured often on construction and contract
issues.

PERSONAL
Mr. Blockwick lives the Colorado lifestyle to the fullest, individually
and with his family, wife Kathy and children Jeffrey and Alison. An
active climber for more than thirty years, he has pursued rock
climbing, ice climbing and mountaineering throughout the US and in
Canada, Alaska and South America. Other activities including
mountain biking (including the Leadville Trail 100), backcountry skiing
in the US and Canada, desert canyoneering and anything else that offers
outdoor fun and challenge. He is also a dedicated guitarist, having
played in a number of bands over the years, and still loves live music
from opera to rock and roll (Phish!). He enjoys all of this the
most when done with Kathy or the kids, and much of the outdoor and
other activity is a family affair. He has lived in Colorado since 1976
and Boulder since 1985.
